Adventure Chronicles: The Search for Lost Treasure review

Gogii games have once again repeated their gaming magic through the sequel of Escape the Museum. The story goes like this: Susan travels to the five different parts of the world and this time also she is in search of the archeological treasures. The game has everything to keep a gamer interested till the last scene like the innovative puzzles, good production values and a good storyline to wrap up the things.

In the earlier version of this game we have seen that Susan was trapped in the museum along with her daughter at the time of an earthquake. In this game she goes out to the different parts of the world and finds clues from a journal to unearth hidden treasures of Blackbeard, Napoleon etc. The hidden object gameplay here has scenes that have some beautiful artwork to hide the objects and most of the objects are related to the scenes. There are some dark spaces but the use of the Object Finder would make things easy for the players. The sounds used in the scenes gels very well with the scenes.

All the elements of the game does not fall into place and especially the cutscenes looks a little odd to the eyes. Even Susan and her character as an archeologist are a bit weird. I do not find any logic in her deeds as she hardly has any respect for the vases and artifacts that she breaks in the name of treasure hunt (and she is referred as an archeologist). She also gives the international laws a miss by breaking into museums and stealing the archeological treasures. This is the reason that one would find the story as the weakest link in the whole game. This is something that we did not expect, especially when Susan was portrayed as a strong and ethical person.

It is quite smooth as far as the gameplay is concerned, but there are also some glitches that may make things a little frustrating. You may have to do a task a few numbers of times but one gets used to it as it this happens frequently. We want to tell the developers that the use of the dusting has been done in the most efficient manner. There are no other games in the league of Adventure Chronicles: The Search for Lost Treasure in terms of the use of dusting effect. You are bound to miss the minigames and also the puzzles are there to keep up the interest in the game. There is also the feature of a walkthrough so that you can even skip certain puzzles, if you get stuck.

Conclusion: The game is also great in terms of balancing so many features at a single go. There are the HOG scenes, minigames and also the puzzles that are balanced really well and you would not get bored with one particular element of the game. The only problem is that the instructions at a few places are not very clear and this can create problems for the first timers. The length of the game could have been made a little; bigger and a few more scenes would have jazzed up the game in terms of its gaming value. This game has a lot of positives to offer in terms of graphics, gameplay and music. Overall this is an entertaining game!
