    Affair Bureau review

In the storyline the detective Alex is being hired by a beautiful girl and the formalities of hiring are done in a unique style when she leaves a calling card on the desk. Alex tries to find out the details about this girl and in the process he went on to reveal information about his own past.

In the whole process of the investigation, Alex hangs around the roof top and even passes through the subway tunnels. While exploring every location, he needs to find the clue of the objects, which are hidden in various encumbering places. The scenes are built quite dramatically and it’s pretty tough to find the hidden objects. In various scenes the objects are hidden in quite a secluded or confusing place, where the items are really hard to find.

One of the best parts of Affair Bureau is that there is no stipulated time factor to complete the game and there isn’t a penalty for any incorrect clicks on items. Thus the game is quite relaxing and the gamer doesn’t have to be too much tensed or overly excited. Even the hints are unlimited but every time you have to wait for the hint meter to recharge. There will be a warning when the charge finishes. So take a note of the warnings and continue with the game.

The mini games attached with the main stories in these types of game genres are always interesting and this isn’t an exception. Mini games on analyzing the cells under a microscopic, or rigging of the fuse box or the lock setting scenes are really interesting. They aren’t too difficult but involve a lot of fun for sure.

All the scenes have been juxtaposed wonderfully with Alex talking over a phone all through the game but the dialogues aren’t bad as such. However some typos do exists which actually leads to a puzzle relating to the opening scene.

Some of the features in this game are misleading – like a spatula is named as the “shovel”, the thumbtack is the “pin”, the gas mask as the “respirator” and quite amazingly a “vent” is referred as toilet plunger. All these items don’t have a proper labeling but can be used as a hint for identifying objects. Sometimes the hint meter operates slowly and it may be frustrating.

The game is not to too lengthy… it can finish off within couple of hours. After finishing you can replay the game from the main menu and the best part is that when you play the game again, the items will be located at different places. Although there weren’t many error in the game but some of the features like the branching paths don’t allow the areas to explore and the crime computer (for searching suspect’s photo) has been under utilized.

Conclusions: I should recommend Affair Bureau as good exciting stuff but be prepared to get frustrated at times. However this game has got some sheer excitement to keep you attached with your mouse.
