Curse of the Pharaoh: Napoleon’s Secret review

Napoleon’s Secret is a sequel to Curse of the Pharoah: The Quest for Nefertiti. The main character, Anna, is on her way to discover what lies behind the Nefertiti’s curse. During her quest she visits many nice locations, where you will be helping her do various tasks.

The focus of the Napoleon’s Secret is more in the find the difference type of gameplay, rather than hidden objects, although there is fare share of the objects search as well. There are some fresh twists which make this game unique, such as mirrored images (you have to find differences between mirrored objects) or locations on fire or in the water. You can find hidden coins to spend them on different tools which help you negate these cool but disturbing effects. Buy a mirror – and you can use it to play a normal level instead of mirrored, etc. You can also buy hints using these collected coins, so watch out for them – they’re pretty useful!

In the hidden objects area, it’s fairly standard except for some small things, such as having to place some missing items to their proper places. There are also mini games at the end of each chapter. They are not your usual jigsaw or image pieces puzzles, but are smart and challenging logic or concentration puzzles. Align the rings, find the way to move the book from one shelf to another etc.

The game difficulty is a bit on the easy side, which is probably a good thing. It’s rather easy even for novice players as you can have plenty of hints, and even if you run out of it, just wait a bit and a twinkle will hint you automatically. It gets harder on the later levels and the game provides good challenge, which unprepared players can still pass using hints.

Conclusions: Curse of the Pharaoh: Napoleon’s Secret is a great polished hidden object game with some fresh elements, which put this game apart from your average hidden object game. The locations are enjoyable, the puzzles are interesting, and the twists to the common genre gameplay provide just enough variety not to be bored with the game. Try this game out and you will not be disappointed!
