Fishdom H2O: Hidden Odyssey review
A sequel to the game “Fishdom”, Fishdom H2O: Hidden Odyssey is a different experience of finding the hidden objects. Like the previous one, you can buy a fish and decorate three exotic fish tanks to provide your fishes a beautiful and comfortable place to dwell.
The protagonist of the game is Jennifer, who is a student of marine biology from the environmental protection university. She is in her final year and is determined to get a job at the old Barney’s aquarium. This aquarium has the largest conservation of marine animals in the world and old Barney is looking to hire people. So Jennifer is queuing for the position, but she has to undergo a trial period. Jennifer is fortunate to get her father Grandpa Jack, a well known oceanographer, to provide her with necessary guidance. Jennifer wants to build an aquarium but she doesn’t have sufficient cash. Thus to earn money, she dives into the deep sea for collecting junk items which she would sell for collecting the necessary cash. Well, by now it must be clear to you that this is another classic hidden object game.
You can avail a list of items about the things that you need to find out beneath the water. Items like pearls, sweaters, guitars are a few items that are considered to be water pollutants. Identifying and finding the items is pretty easy in this game though the scenes are quite cluttered. This doesn’t pose as a big problem in the game. The objects are simple and so are the clues. For instance, while finding fire extinguisher you will encounter hints like “puts out fires”. There are a few interesting levels like “gold rush” where you will have to gather as much gold as you can in 30 seconds.
If you get tired of playing the game, you can opt for the relax mode also. There is a sparkle on clicking an item and this indicates that it is one of the items on the list. There is a stipulated time period of 3 minute for completing one list. The moment the time crosses 3 minutes, you will run out of air and will be stranded with less cash. This is the only penalty that the game imposes on its faltering players.
However, there is a problem with this game. Too many clicks on the screen wake up the goldfishes resulting in a mess of bubbles on the screen. The cash, which you earn from the junks would help you to buy fishes for Jennifer’s aquarium. Here, you can buy certain items that ensure comfort of the fishes. You can also include shells, corals, plants, ornaments etc. You can even include fishes like clownfish, pipefish and other aquatic animals in the aquarium. In this game you stand a chance of winning two trophies and also a wonderful screen saver, which would help you to understand the game progress.
Major part of the game is deals with hidden objects and there are no specific levels. You can earn goodies for your tank and it might take 90 minutes to complete a tank successfully. Thus with 3 tanks, the game would be complete within 4-5 hours. The game bears a polished look with good voiceovers. All in all the production can be termed error free. The hidden objects may vary but they do not repeat.
The game Fishdom H2O: Hidden Odyssey is different from the previous games of this genre. Well the final word from me is that I found the original to be better.
