Help Holly find her daughter and return back to their sweet home! Only you can help but beware of the magic land!
Holly 2: Magic Land review
We have already seen it and done it in the Holly – A Christmas Tale, but to our amazement this game is a lot different from its prequel. The story is still based on Holly, the fairy who lives the life of a suburban wife and mother, and this time she has lost her daughter. The gamer is required to help her return back with her child by quickly finding out the hidden objects at various locations. She is not alone and has her friends giving her company during such a bad phase of her life.
The story starts on Holly’s birthday when she learns that her daughter is missing. She finds out that her daughter has landed in the magic land while she was reading a magic storybook. As Holly has the reputation of helping others and she has already saved the Christmas for the Elves, so they come to help her in her time of crisis. Holly also lands up in the magic land, but there she faces several magical creatures like the precious ant and the lovable mole. Here she has to find her way out because the land of magic is nothing more than a mirage where there is every chance of getting lost.
There are a total of 49 scenes where you are required to find hidden objects and also 6 mini games. At some levels you are required to find similar items but in others you would be required to find items that hardly have any connection. You are provided with the list of items and you would be required to click on these to be removed from the list. The hint system follows the style that we have generally seen where you will be provided three hints in the beginning and once you are able to successfully spot the “magic golden strawberries”, you stand a chance to win one more hint that can be carried over to the next level. The game can be saved if you exit in the middle, but only the level you played is saved and not the progress that you made in it.
This game does not match the level of expectation that we had after we had all enjoyed playing the Holly first part. The sequel definitely loses out to its predecessor in terms of the challenge presented to gamers. The basic storyline itself is a little weak and fails to bind the whole game. One hardly requires the hints during all the stages of the game.
Conclusion: This game is comparatively shorter than the ones that are already out in the market and one can expect to complete it in three hours straight. Though the pipe mini game was a little challenging still there was nothing in the game that really caught the eyes. The graphics is neither bad nor great, but the music is one of the best elements of the game. This game is more for the gamers who prefer a relaxed mode than playing something that can be called challenging.
