    Lost in the City review

Lost in the city is the game with a great mysterious atmosphere, nice graphics, solid hidden objects gameplay but somewhat boring puzzle mini-games. If not for the storyline, this will be just another average hidden object games. But the great plot keeps the game interesting till the end.

The game starts with the hero going on a first date with a girl, whose name is April. With drugs being mixed up in the drinks, you wake up in a strange empty building amidst the abandoned city. Someone guides you across the city with weird instructions and you feel like you do not control anything. As the story progresses, you will understand more and more about what’s going on, but the plot is very intriguing and things happen that you never expect. Two thumbs up for a great well-thought story!

When it comes to gameplay, it doesn’t match the great quality of the story. It’s pretty solid, but nothing unusual. Each location gives you a number of missions to do – such as finding batteries for the radio. They are usual objects search, where you’re given a list of objects, or just specific types of objects (e.g. find all the matches in the bus) and have to search for them among a lot of the other junk. The other missions are puzzle mini-games, involving mostly image shuffling.

As usual with the latest hidden objects tendency, you’re offered two game modes – Classic and Light (which is usually called Relaxed in the other games). In Classic mode you have limited time for each level, and in Light mode you can spend as much time as you need. The game lets you take hints or even skip the puzzle levels by pressing SOS button. It deducts from your time in Classic mode, and from your game points in Light mode.

Conclusions: Lost in the City is a decent hidden objects game with a great storyline, nice graphics, solid gameplay but weak puzzle mini-games. It’s a mixed bug, but the great story keeps you interested and guessing until the end of the game, so if you like good mysterious stories, this game might be for you. If you’re looking for great gameplay, you should probably look somewhere else.
