    Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst review

The third game in the series of the Mystery Case Files has broken its own style of gameplay this time and Big Fish has come up with a complete new look and feel for its favorite game series. MCF: Ravenhearst has shown the path of change and it definitely has gone a few steps ahead of the other games in the HOG genre.

In this game you have to investigate the mysterious mansion called Ravenhearst Manor that is situated at Blackpool, England. Yes, you go on the quest because you have found an incomplete diary of a woman who used to live in the mansion. Now, the way you have to investigate goes for a complete toss as this game takes a break from its traditional form. Here, you will not be required to interrogate the suspects and instead you are require to find out the missing pages in the diary and find out what actually happened to the woman. This is the only way that you are going to unlock the secrets of the Ravenhearst mansion.

The game play definitely remains the same though there has been a change in the style of investigation. You have to get into the cluttered rooms of the manor and along with the items on the list you also have to find a clue object from each room. After you end up finding the number of clues required from a scene, you will have to play a mini game where you are required to add the pieces of a photograph and then get your required in the form of the missing page of the diary. Locking mechanisms on certain doors of the manor are really innovative and you would love to solve the puzzles to unlock a door. This serves as the lime on your drink!

The music used in the scenes is very well suited to the settings of the manor and we really never missed the humor which had been quite common in the previous games of the series. The missing pages of the diary weave the game slowly to reveal a story that is not only interesting but at the same time scary. The only problem with the story line is that it can give you a feeling of having already heard such stories and even at places one can even guess the entry in the diary. So there could have been a better treat in wait for the gamer who worked hard for the diary page. The game can be played both in the detective and relaxed mode and the relaxed mode offers a little more time to complete each scene. You are also offered five hints per round to make things a little easier.

Conclusion: This game is a wonderful treat for gamers around the world as one would get a good replay value. You are going to stumble upon new clues ever time you replay the scenes. The developers know that the series of Mystery Case Files has a huge demand, so there are all chances of finishing up the box of creativity. This is the reason they have come up something different this time. The game was a good experience of great graphics, scary music and a new gameplay that makes this another successful game in the MCF series.
