Spin Top’s Mystery P.I - Lost in Los Angeles, from the Spin Top’s stable, is the fourth game in this series. The premise of the game is interesting where an exclusive copy of the biggest blockbuster movie of the year has gone missing. Your task is to find this missing object by using your observational skills. Once you have to find the missing object, you will have to return it to the film studio. Time is an essential element in this game, and you have only 17 hours to complete your task. On the successful completion of the mission, you will win a cool $ 15 million.
Like its predecessors, this game follows a linear pattern. However, all the objects are not visible, and game is rather tricky and at times manipulative. The use of clever descriptions makes it rather stimulating. However, even though the objects are hidden, they are pretty easy to find, if you have the patience and the will to do so. The Bonus games that keep popping up at regular intervals range from crossword and jigsaw puzzles. The Match 3 games are refreshing addition to this game, as it enables you to earn 25 clues with as much as 25 areas to snoop around.
This game has three distinct modes. It has the classical mode, along with Unlimited Seek and Find and Match 3 Bonus Game. In Unlimited Seek & Find, you will have to scout through 25 different locations, which will enable you to find as many hidden objects as possible. Here there is no pressure of time limit. There are more than 2,000 objects to be discovered and this mode offers you extra playing hours. Lastly, Match 3 Bonus Game allows you to play the various Match 3 mini-games without having to scout through different levels. You are entitled to find the additional objects, once bonus objects are properly located in the entire 25 levels.
Lost in Los Angeles is neat, primarily because of its non fussy linear format. The style is simple, and a rather well established hint system makes it even simpler. However, too much of hints might lower your scoring options, and the use of Options menu makes you entitled to a lot of benefits. You can enhance your scoring options by locating object in combinations. The game has a decent duration, and is not too tedious.
Conclusion: Overall, Mystery P.I - Lost in Los Angeles is a game that stands out for its graphics and its good background score. It remains true to the Mystery P.I series, and once again proves why they are so popular. It is almost the perfect hidden object game. But this game suffers from poor script, and the situation in this game is rather tacky that leaves you disappointed. Apart from this, this game also suffers from poor arrangements of objects that are placed at such a random pace that there are at times no relations to the actual clues that are being offered. Objects also are frequently being repeated at various levels.
