Mysteryville 2 review
Laura is a journalist who never gets a time to relax in her little town myteryville. After solving the case of missing cats in the previous Mysteryville adventure, she wants to go to a vacation and finds herself involved into another mystery. The mysterville 2 is quite similar to the hidden object and puzzle solving games and moreover it has a new story to say and even you can meet some familiar character.
After getting involved into another mystery, Laura returns to mysteryville with an invitation of an old friend Bill Witowsky. However when she arrives at the town, she found that Bill is missing. A famous art & jewellery auction has been organized in the town by the new priest of the town. Bill is not present at the auction and here Laura has to find her friend in the game.
The mysteryville 2 is similar to games like Hidden Expedition, Mystery Case Files and Dream Day. Like all other games, the main aim of Mysteryville 2 is to search for the lists of objects which are hidden in different cluttered rooms within a specific period of time. The best thing about this game is that Laura can interact with people in the town and there are puzzles which go well with the dialogue and with the main plot of the game.
The gamer doesn’t have to do any random search into the junks rather there are some specific points for the hidden objects which go parallel with the story. Even when the list of the items suggests that you have to find out the random items, Laura has to search one particular object in the messy rooms. In the second part of the game, there are a few varieties in the search of the hidden objects like flashlights, which you have to find out from a pitch-dark room. While searching, a gamer has to find objects from the silhouettes, or has to collect pairs of the objects like timepiece or fruit. Moreover he has to compare two adjacent rooms in different versions of the game and has to spot out the differences between the two identical rooms.
A few puzzles need to be solved like card matching, tile swapping or assembling scrambled pieces of messages. There is a hint system in this game but its better not to rely on it solely. The hint would help you find out the many locations of the hidden items and if the hint system doesn’t work, then take a heed it might need a recharge. If you are taking more time than what is stipulated to you, you can be penalized with subtracting 20 seconds from the clock.
As the game progresses, you will get acquainted with many familiar faces from the previous version of the game and most of them will have new responsibilities of the town. A few exceptional characters are the sheriff and the creepy scientists who would help you to find out the hidden objects in the town.
Conclusions: The game ends with Laura leaving the case unsolved and giving a chance for a sequel so we are looking forward for it but this version really rocks!!
