Natalie Brooks: The Treasures of the Lost Kingdom review

The Natalie Brooks: The Treasures of the Lost Kingdom is more of an adventure game rather being a typical hidden object finding game. In this genre, this is one of the most outstanding adventure games. Grandpa is lost or abducted and the gamer has to find him out- sounds cliché? But don’t worry the old wine is integrated well in a new bottle.

The gamer i.e. Natalie has three days to rescue her scientist grandpa who is a historian as well. You being the gamer, have to search for treasure with the help of a map and have to avoid the curse. Moreover the gamer also has to discover the secrets about the ghost train and the president. The narration of the story has comic angles between the conversation and the chapters in the game. Unlike other games, the game helps the gamer to stay on track with its simple narration.

Unnecessary typos and grammatical errors in the game may deteriorate the enjoyment. Although few intentional typos (may be!) offers a comic relief like “wich me luck” and misspelling of the names of certain characters like Geoffrey Evens (it should be ‘Evans’). Even the lead character of the game Natalie brooks suffers the safe fate of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. I don’t know whether it was done intentionally or not but apart from the comic relief factor, I felt it a little disgusting at times.

Although this is an adventure game but the game has certain features of the hidden items which gets beautifully intermingled with the narration. In few chapters of the game, the gamer has to find some objects to attain the next level. There is a also a mini game section which I think is bothersome amidst the entire game because it wont pay you with anything other than a “congratulation”.

The graphic of the game is always sharp but sometimes the 3-D character of the game appears floppy and sulky. The cartoon based graphics would have been better if they were not created in 3-D format. Unlike graphics, the music is just perfect and sets a wonderful background score.

The latest version of Natalie Brooks: The Treasures of the Lost Kingdom doesn’t have anything new for us except a different task and storyline. However these features won’t let you away! There are certain puzzles which may be boring at times but the player can skip them if they want. If you have skipped the puzzle, then that may be the only reason to replay this game. The puzzles are a sort of mini games which don’t even sharpen your memory… thus it is quite a useless option.

For finding objects there are unlimited hints as long as the hint buttons are full. You can refill the hints before using it again.

Conclusion: The Natalie Brooks: The Treasures of the Lost Kingdom may not be challenging for the experienced gamers in spite of all his adventure tricks. However the game concludes nicely and is very satisfying.
