Lights, camera, action! It is time to get rolling with the 1986 classic Pretty in Pink. Boy! Andie looks as beautiful as she was in the movie (or in my imagination) and Blane as suave as a man can. Do I sound nostalgic? I do because this was one movie that made me crazy about the whole idea of falling in love and I enjoyed every bit of it. Now, we are going to look at the hidden object game Pretty in Pink, where the movie characters Andie and Blane have been recreated to mesmerize us with their love story.

The storyline of the game starts with the two protagonists Andie and Blane falling in love with each other and obviously creates ripples both in their lives as well as their friends. The reason that people around them are against their relationship is that they belong to different strata of the society (Blane is a rich boy whereas Andie comes from a humble background). There is huge pressure on both of them from their peers (no prizes for guessing if you have seen the movie) Lona, Steff and Duckie. Andie has a penchant for making beautiful clothes and has great fashion sense. Andie works hard and is part of a reputed institution only by virtue of her intelligence and hard work. Blane on the other hand is rich, handsome and has a lot of girls vying to be his beau. Andie is a strong willed person whereas Blane is someone who easily succumbs to social pressures. Now there are two main characters Steff and Duckie. Steff is in love with Blane and hates Andie while tying every trick in the book to break the relationship. On the other hand Duckie loves Andie and is left shattered with the blooming love between Andie and Blane.

In this hidden object game, there is a very good narration of the story through the use of photographs and voice-overs. The story slowly unfolds as you cross each level by playing the mini games and hidden object scenes. There are also other regular elements on offer like logic puzzles, picture assembling and spotting the difference. Now, you are required to assemble or make the Prom gown for Andie. For this you have to find various items and silhouetted item. You also need to get the sports car and rubber duckies that are hidden in every scene to decide the final outcome of the game or rather the story. In the last scene you are required to design the Prom gown for Andie.

There are many interesting puzzles in the game that spice up things from time to time. There are certain downsides of the game like the poor graphics at places which make it very hard to spot an item. Also you may have to click on one item several times to see it of your screen. The game is all about Andie’s dresses, but they did not look so to me at all. The music was up to the mark and one is sure to get nostalgic.

Conclusion: The game is good for those who are in search of a great game, but movie buffs can find it uninteresting and even frustrating. One thing is for sure and that is you are not going to get bored in any way.
