This is the game that can be called a complete mixture of everything. Princess Isabella: A Witch’s Curse is a hidden object game that has a tinge of puzzle thrown, quiz and skill games that are really going blow you of your feet!

The story starts on the interesting note that you are Princess Isabella who is supposed to get married to her beloved Prince Adam, but while you were out there riding, a witch created huge problems for you. The witch had trapped everybody in mirrors inside the castle and now you are the only person who can save the entire family and your loved ones. Removal of the curse is your prime duty and that is the only way how you can free the trapped people inside the castle.

The only solace for you in such an unfortunate scenario is that you are not alone and there is a partner in the form of a faithful fairy who is there to get you out of the doldrums. Initially, you will be provided with only the hints by your partner but later on as you go on crossing one level after the other you are going to get more help from your partner. You have to unlock the powers by burning with fire, hitting against rocks or pouring water. The powers are going to help you solve the puzzle and this is the reason that your fairy becomes a little more interesting than just remaining as a hint box.

You are required to remove the curse from each room of the castle and this is the way to beat the witch and free your loved ones. The castle is not a small one and this is why you are not going to find it very easy to complete the tasks. You are to restore paintings by flipping the switches, ingredients to make a stew to feed the ghosts and you also have to make a potion by collecting hidden items. You would also have to play minigames as a task to solve the mysteries and break the curse. You are to find out the broken pieces of the mirror and restore all the seven mirrors in the castle to free your loved ones who are captured in them. For reassembling the mirror pieces, you also need to solve the jigsaw puzzles and then free the person who is trapped in them. After this you are going to receive a clue and an object that would be used to go on to the next level.

Conclusion: There is a lot of variety in the gameplay and that is reflected in the wide array of puzzles and hidden objects to be found or other tasks that are thrown at you. You do not face a lot of problems while navigating through the castle and you always have the option of the map to make things easier. The graphics of the game is just great but the same cannot be said about voice acting which is little better than worst. Princess Isabella sounds drowsy at almost all the places and even your fairy is a little better than irritating. The final face off with the witch is the most interesting par of the game and this is why I do not wish to say much on this part or the surprise factor would be taken off. This is a very creative game and has all the capacity to become one of the best of 2009.
